Gypsy Sound System:
The Gypsy Sound System is born in 2005 from the meeting of Dj Olga with Dr.Schnaps.
From this moment, gypsy parties have taken a new turn. More fire, more happiness, more sounds! This sound system is a mixture between traditional gypsy, brass, electro, ragga-klezmer, balkanic fire, eastern ska, oriental trip-hop, indian drum and bass, spanish rumba popular drunksongs and original gypsy songs singed live by Olga in romani, polish, russian.
Gypsy Sound System proposes a musical travel from indian vibes through the Balkan and Slavish countries, to spanish flamenco and rumba gitana. It’s not only 2 persons, it’s a whisper of life that use wild winds to get in every hearts who want to be free in a fly of dance.
With more than 110 dates all over Europe and USA, Mexico and Canada for the year 2007, Gypsy Sound System is recognized as one of the best in the planetary « gypsy djs family ».
Dj Olga :
Young polish diva riding a flying bike or a « traktor sound system » with a microphone, with her exotic hat and mouth harp in the pocket. She brings the fire in the freezing winter nights with gypsy sounds, and adds some spices of vocal on the special tunes. With her selections from traditional brass orchestras and mostly beautiful gypsy songs to the new eastern-European, Balkan sounds, she takes the crowd in a travel through time and gypsy story. It’s made in so magic way that people don’t know the next day if it was a dream or reality. To put the spell on the public, she transforms herself in MC Olga and throws the hot sparks of her live voice. She sings mostly her original compositions, cooked with gypsy, Turkish, eastern-europenian flawours, using instrumental lines and small traditional instruments. The last original compositions are born from the collaboration of Dj.Olga with an excellent producer Ben Vicq (DzikSon), in the past immerged in Parisian Breaks and Hip-Hop. You can also hear Olga singing with her balkan-klezmer band –« Vagalatschk ».
Dr. Schnaps :
This is the name that the time and experiences gave to this young medicinal herbs (Dr.) and vine (Schnaps) producer. Bacchus descendant, he passed his first twenty years in bottle to get matured. When the bottle was opened, music and scream of happiness flew from inside that his mission is definitely to make dance people on evil fire sounds from India to Spain. Banished son of Yvette Horner, you can recognize him because of his huge pilosity in which he falls sometimes when he begins to dance. The crowd knows the next day that it was the best madness nightmare they've never had before, and ask for more.
